The Profile in Human Design is set using the position of the Birth Sun (Personality) and the position of the Incarnation Sun (Design) in their respective Gates. Each of the 64 Gates is composed of 6 sectors called Lines. The first digit of the Profile is the Line of the Birth Sun and the second digit the Line of the Incarnation Sun.
There are 12 profiles.
– 1/3, 2/4, 3/5, 4/6, 5/1 et 6/2. These six Profiles are the most common, each of them has a 14.5% probability.
– 1/4, 2/5, 3/6, 4/1, 5/2 and 6/3. These six profiles are uncommon and they make a bridge between each of the main profiles. Each of them has a 2.2% probability.
Each profile has its own meaning that is explained in detail in Human Design reports we offer. Below is the summary meaning of each of the 6 lines.
In Human Design each of the 6 Lines has a name but as I personnaly think these names are very reductive, I never use them in my reports and lectures. That’s the reason why you won’t read them on this page neither.
Line 1 is constantly learning with the most competent people to acquire knowledge in order to reduce its fears and to feel safer. It always gets to the bottom of things by studying the topics that interest it to have solid foundations before it can finally relax and move forward. Its deep empathy helps Line 1 to absorb verbal and non-verbal information from its loved ones. Having a huge need for security, it observes what works in the behaviors of others and it adapts like a chameleon. Modest in nature, Line 1 knows where it belongs and how to act in all circumstances.
Free and independent, Line 2 wants to live in peace by doing things according to its desire. Even if it is sometimes unconscious, it has natural abilities that others wish to use. However, it tends not to like when others come to disturb it or have to tell them how they should do it. Line 2 generally does not like to take sides and even less that the others come to interfere in its affairs. It enjoys its moments of solitude during which it practices introspection. Often, Line 2 only leaves home when it is invited for something that suits it or to express one of its talents.
Tenacious and resilient, Line 3 adapts easily to all situations and failure does not scare it. It loves discoveries and it experiences life through trial and error that make it progress. Everything new is a source of attraction for Line 3, but very materialistic it does not trust appearances. Tirelessly, Line 3 checks everything to find the flaw and it does not hesitate to question a lie, even if it assumes blame if it is wrong. When well anchored and embodied, it has a great capacity for adaptation and transformation.
Friendly and fraternal, Line 4 tends to rely on friends and relationships to move forward. It does not like to be surprised and it is usually afraid of the unknown. Therefore, it is only committing when the basics are secure and the relationship is correct. Inflexible, it tends to disengage if the return it gets from others is not proportional to its efforts. In its social relations, Line 4 likes when everybody share their abilities and their discoveries. Its quality of life depends on the quality of its network of friends.
When no solution has been found, Line 5 walks onstage and finds a pragmatic and original solution. Attractive, effective and open to the unknown, it must be careful not to fall into the savior role especially when others project expectations. If it is not aware of its capabilities and limitations, Line 5 risks proposing ineffective solutions and being removed from its pedestal. When the crisis has passed, the others tend to forget Line 5, it must take the opportunity to regenerate to be ready for the next crisis.
Line 6 lives its life in three phases. Up to the age of 30, it experiences life through trial and error but if there are too many failures, it can fall into pessimism. From 30 to 50, it chooses a goal and starts a family. It practices introspection to learn from its defeats and acquire a certain wisdom. This withdrawal can make it seem distant to others. From the age of 50, Line 6 becomes a model that shares its perspective and wisdom with others by doing work that it loves in alignment with its mission.
